Eric Liddell was an Olympic gold medalist, rugby player, and a Christian missionary. He was born in China. But he spent most of his life in Scotland. He played rugby for the University of Edinburgh. Mostly Eric was famous for his teaching career. His students used to call him uncle Eric.
Eric returned to China for serving as a missionary like his father. Christianity and his religious conviction were too high. But Eric was a talented and hardworking sprinter. He won 400m Edinburgh University sprinter within 47.3 seconds.

Eric was so fast in his time of the sport. He believed in God more than anyone. He believed that without the help of God he can’t even survive in his whole life.
Eric sent his family and his wife to Canada by the time of the Japanese invasion. He died by a brain tumor in 1945.
